Shimmer and Glitter away the oil from your face.

This one is for all the women who shun away from makeup due to oily skin!!

Well If you have an oily face, this is a must read and must follow! I have oily skin and know very well the irritation my skin and I "face" ! Oily skin can be the cause of eruptions and pimples, tired looking face and dusty looking make-up.

Firstly you need to understand the oil zones on your face. Some may have the T-zone more oily, some only forehead and some overall like cheeks and nose.

I had been suggested a Cetaphil cleansing lotion for impurities in my skin, and it worked like wonders.

Do not mix this with water, just apply the lotion directly on the face and massage for 5 min regularly.

Once you have identified your oil zone, you can start working on it. Contrary to belief scrubs are enemies to oily skin!

Scrubbing with a rough mix and action of rubbing strips face of oil and makes it dry which only tells the skin to secrete more oil to compensate the dryness.

So, how to get rid of oil and also mildly exfoliate?

Use the Lakme strawberry face wash. The product has a wash that resemble a strawberry and its seeds. The gel that freshens up the skin and small wash beads gently exfoliate. Using a circular motion wash your oil zone and work your way to the rest of the face and don't forget the neck.

Once you have thoroughly washed, semi dry your face so that you still have a little moisture in your face. This allows the face pack to glide smoothly. So Lakme face pack that follows the wash is the

best. The pack is mildly scented and is smooth paste. you can apply this with your fingers or use a face pack brush to spread evenly across face and neck. wash it off after 10 minutes and pat dry with a soft towel.

                                                      Avoid any face moisturizers.

Immediately after you wash you will feel dryness and a need to moisturize. But this is what denies the skin to breathe and ends up clogging the pores.

Use an Ice cube wrapped in a napkin instead to calm the skin down.
Once you have cooled the skin you can start with make-up.

Make-up can also be tricky for oily skin. Start by using a concealer or blemish corrector that suits you skin tone.

Turn to Colorbar concealer sticks.

I have a sandal tone skin and so I found the Colorbar Full cover make-up stick in Fresh Ivory 001 a perfect match.

I use the stick directly under my eyes first and start dabbing the other blemishes. A concealer is not a base so just be careful not to use a lot.

Give your face a rest so that the concealer is fully set. When applying a base, Creme based foundations best be avoided as they make skin look more oily.

Use a gel based foundation like the M.A.C studio sculpt base. It is smooth and matte. Dot your face with the foundation and spread evenly on face and neck.

Please use your fingers to get a more natural look. I seriously don't believe in sponges. They only make you use more product and give you less coverage, and don't even get me started on the hygiene issues. So let's just stick to our own fingers.

Make sure the foundation has covered your eyelids, neck and ears too.

Lastly Dust off your face with a compact or loose powder whichever you are comfortable with.

Apply evenly with a fluffy brush and not the pad that comes with the product.

Again the pad is either spongy or is a cloth and uses more product.

A brush on the other hand gives a more even coverage I love the Maybelline compact in nude beige shade. It has a smooth texture and settles very easily.

You are now ready for any kind of highlighting, contouring or shading to look ever so fabulous!

An expert tip: Don't reapply makeup over old makeup. Make sure you have removed every last drop of foundation, mascara, shadow and concealer before you start fresh. The moment you have 2-3 layers of make-up the skin starts to look heavies and darker. It is after all absorbed into the pores. So its best to take time and get it right the first time so you don't need too many re applications.

Hope this helps all you beautiful women out there look more amazing everyday.
