Firstly there are no rules in making a top knot because it is the chameleon of hairstyles. It can be very classy to very messy and yet make you look very very stylish.
Here are a few ideas for an easy and chic top knot.
1. Braided knot - A little braided bun that adorns your crown , this hairstyle is perfect for those "bad hair" days. Just take your hair up high in a braid , twist it into a bun and pin it! You can wear this hair for dresses that are bare shoulder or even a cute lacy tank top with shorts. Wear dangling earrings to finish the look,
2. Half Up- the current favorite look, the half up top knot gives you the best of both worlds. Divide the hair making a line from ear to ear and twist it into a knot by pinning and spraying it. You can also add a pouffe to your front to make it really high fashion. You can either curl the rest of your hair in very slight waves or just back comb it to get a messy up do. Wear this hairstyle with a jacket and skinny jeans or with a little red dress and black knee-high boots.
3. Accessorized- Pair your twisted knot with head bands, hair pins, bow scrunchies or even a comb-pin. Its is left to you how you accessorize them, I must suggest avoiding chopsticks though, as they do "knot" compliment a messy bun. Wear this hairstyle for your dance night, with a glittering top or a sequinned evening dress. If you choose to wear a simple head band then you can just step out in your yoga pants for you morning coffee!!
4. Bangs- Front fringe , side bangs?? No problem! Just remember to make a really neat top knot separating your bangs. Use as much spray you want to set that bun!
